In 2023, Saving Wildcats carried out the first ever releases of captive bred wildcats in Britain, into the Cairngorms National Park. After further releases in 2024 and several years of field work and breeding successes, hear from project lead, Dr Helen Senn, as well as ex-situ team leader Estelle Morgan and field operations manager, Louise Hughes, about how the project has progressed.
The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) has been involved with Scottish wildcat conservation for over 10 years and continues to play a critical role in the long-term recovery efforts of this iconic species, as Saving Wildlife project leads. Working together with partners, the UK’s captive breeding holders for wildcats, and international specialists in species recovery, Saving Wildcats is the greatest hope for wildcats in Scotland.
Tickets are free of charge, however, we kindly ask for a small donation to the project which can be made at the checkout.
You will receive details for joining the online zoom event in due course after selecting your tickets.
